Bluebells… Aren’t they just beautiful? I’d heard a lot about the ones at the Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire, but ideally didn’t want to travel so far. A friend recommended we should go back to Howe Park Wood in Milton Keynes. We first visited the cafe there back in January but because it was so wet we didn’t actually visit the woods. Given the fabulous weather we’re having this week we thought we’d visit. The walk around Howe Park Wood takes about 20 minutes along the main paths. They are buggy accessible. But the smaller woodland paths are narrow.

The bluebells are stunning, I immediately wanted to take pictures of them. It’s an ideal place to take young children because there’s enough to see without it being too big. There’s a cool den building area where you can also sit down. There isn’t a park there, but if your children are anything like mine then there’s a whole wood full of sticks for them to pick up… and attempt to bring home. Well worth a visit, so peaceful in this beautiful sunshine but go QUICK before the bluebells die. Want to see more before you go? I’ve recently set up the Milton Keynes Kids YouTube Channel so even if you’re not on facebook you can watch my videos there.

Howe Park Wood is located just off the H7 Chaffron Way opposite the Westcroft District Centre (Morrisons). An approximate postcode for the centre is MK4 4DD. It’s FREE to park.

I'm Laura, mum of two boys - aged six and four. I started this website at the end of Sept 2015 whilst on maternity leave. I now work four days a week and do this blog late at night once the little boys are sleeping. It's won several awards over the last four years and I continue to run it for free and mostly focus on free, cheap, and good value days out. Do drop me an email laura@miltonkeyneskids.com if you want to contact me. Don't forget to follow all of our latest adventures on facebook, instagram and twitter and have a look at all of the videos of the places we visit on the Milton Keynes Kids YouTube Channel - subscribe to it for notifications every time I add a new place. And remember... you may been reading this post months after we visited, do check with the destination you're visiting for up to date opening times and prices. If you find this blog useful then please do comment on my posts and leave me a Facebook review - it makes doing this all the more worthwhile.
