There’s a little park known as the Caterpillar park in Galley Hill in Milton Keynes that we’ve been meaning to visit for ages and in August 2017 we did. Watch our video below to see what it’s like and then scroll down for info.

What’s at the caterpillar park?

The caterpillar park is a small local park situated off an estate in Galley Hill, Milton Keynes. The main attraction is a metal caterpillar slide. It’s a medium sized slide and both of my sons aged 4 and 2 loved it. They both love jumping at the moment so they really enjoyed bouncing on the floor trampoline. There’s a metal climbing frame – it’s quite old school – so fine for my eldest son who’s quite happy to climb on everything – less good for my 2 year old who, once up, couldn’t get down again by himself and was subsequently asking me ‘where’s the slide mummy?’ There’s also a roundabout that can pick up some speed and also a few swings. We spent about an hour there. We parked near Clailey Court. The best postcode is MK11 1NP.

What else can we do in that area?

If you’re local to Galley Hill or Stony Stratford then I’d say it’s worth popping along there for a visit. If you’re travelling by car then I’d suggest planning a few parks to go to in order make the most of your time in that area. With the park on your right walk around the corner to find another metal tractor-type climbing frame (pictured below). We then jumped back in the car and drove 5 minutes to Western Road Recreation Ground which is next to Wolverton swimming pool – it’s a much bigger park with lots of fun play equipment. Instead of that one, you could always visit the Magic Garden and Two Mile Ash park which is about an 8 minute drive from the Caterpillar park in Galley Hill. And if you’re looking for somewhere to go for a few hours Milton Keynes Museum is also nearby.
