Dunstable Splash Park

There’s a FREE splash park in Dunstable which opened up in 2017. You can go from 14th May – 9th September 2018. 10am – 6pm. Watch our video below so you can see what it’s like and then scroll down for more information.

What’s the splash park in Dunstable like?

The splash park is 200m2 with 16 super soaking water features ranging from gentle mists, spray arches to tipping buckets and spray shooter cannons. It’s at the Bennett Memorial Recreation Ground in Dunstable. There is a park there – the play equipment is quite old – but there’s enough to keep children busy. There’s also a café. I took the pictures of the splash park just before it opened, and due being busy doing lots of other things, I haven’t had a chance to take my sons yet – but wanted to give you some info. The splash park is free and there are no time limits. It’s open 10am – 6pm every day until 9th September 2018. The café sells sandwiches, paninis, pizzas, cakes and hot and cold drinks.

Where is it best to park and what else can we do that’s cheap in Dunstable?

There are parking restrictions around the park so the town council advises you to park in the Ashton Square car park off Bull Pond Lane. It’s a pay on exit system. LU6 3SN is the postcode for the car park for the splash park. Like anywhere we visit, do check it’s open if you’re travelling from further afield to avoid disappointment – we don’t keep an eye on any day to day problems. We’ve found they do update the Bennetts Splash twitter account and if in doubt you can always call Dunstable Town Council who run it and check with them.

If you want to go somewhere else then there’s a good sized park and nice picnic area in Grove Park – the park is quite old school with lots of metal climbing frames. And we always love a trip to Dunstable Downs. Great fun flying a kit and there’s a lovely natural play area in Chute Wood there. You just pay to park.

We’ve enjoyed Dunstable splash park, where else can we go?

We’ve visited three other free splash parks which are all worth going to.

I'm Laura, mum of two boys - aged six and four. I started this website at the end of Sept 2015 whilst on maternity leave. I now work four days a week and do this blog late at night once the little boys are sleeping. It's won several awards over the last four years and I continue to run it for free and mostly focus on free, cheap, and good value days out. Do drop me an email laura@miltonkeyneskids.com if you want to contact me. Don't forget to follow all of our latest adventures on facebook, instagram and twitter and have a look at all of the videos of the places we visit on the Milton Keynes Kids YouTube Channel - subscribe to it for notifications every time I add a new place. And remember... you may been reading this post months after we visited, do check with the destination you're visiting for up to date opening times and prices. If you find this blog useful then please do comment on my posts and leave me a Facebook review - it makes doing this all the more worthwhile.
