The Drop Off Café

The Drop off Café is a hidden gem in Newport Pagnell. It’s child friendly, really welcoming and it’s cool! (I’m not sure it’s cool to say to say cool anymore but I was born in the early eighties so I still say cool) With it’s bright interior and ikea high chairs it feels really modern and yet warm and friendly at the same time. There is a small kids play corner with a dolls house, books, and chalk board. There’s also a selection of board games for older children. I had a jacket potato and my toddler enjoyed choosing his sandwich, drink and three items from the kids £2.50 packed lunch menu. We had a lovely chat with the owner Rachel who told us all about how they host the ‘Build your Business MK’ a network of local small business owners, with regular coffee and brunch meetings.

There’s also regular story times and other events on there – it’s best to check their facebook page to see what’s on. The café is tucked away on the Poets Estate local centre, between the ‘Dove park’ and Portfields Primary School. The postcode gets you to the car park then it’s round the corner (with the Co-op) on your left – you don’t immediately see the café. After lunch we walked behind the café to the park – the climbing frames are a bit better for slightly older children but there’s a few pieces of equipment for little ones.

We visited in January 2015 – do check their website for the latest opening times.

I'm Laura, mum of two boys - aged six and four. I started this website at the end of Sept 2015 whilst on maternity leave. I now work four days a week and do this blog late at night once the little boys are sleeping. It's won several awards over the last four years and I continue to run it for free and mostly focus on free, cheap, and good value days out. Do drop me an email laura@miltonkeyneskids.com if you want to contact me. Don't forget to follow all of our latest adventures on facebook, instagram and twitter and have a look at all of the videos of the places we visit on the Milton Keynes Kids YouTube Channel - subscribe to it for notifications every time I add a new place. And remember... you may been reading this post months after we visited, do check with the destination you're visiting for up to date opening times and prices. If you find this blog useful then please do comment on my posts and leave me a Facebook review - it makes doing this all the more worthwhile.
