Blue park, Monkston in Milton Keynes
Whilst my children are young they have nothing more than visiting a fun park. We’re so lucky to have so many good ones in Milton Keynes and many of them are worth travelling to. We’d heard there was a really good climbing frame at the ‘blue park’ in Monkston so we went to check it out.
So what did we think and who is it suitable for?
My eldest son – currently three as I write this – absolutely loved the blue park. The climbing frame has several different slides and lots of different things to climb up. My youngest son – 20 months – also liked it, but I needed to follow him around it. He’s at an age where he likes to climb up slides only to fall back down them again. He quickly scaled the steps and was fine doing down the smaller slides by himself. But the upper platform is quite high, and he hasn’t yet grasped the concept of not going near the edge. Definitely more suitable for mini explorers aged three and over.
How do we find it?
An approximate postcode MK10 9BX. Go about halfway up Kilwinning Drive, and assuming Blanchard Circle is in front of you, there is a pathway on your left hand side which takes you to the climbing frame.
Is there anything else nearby?
Yes! There’s another park a short walk away. If you leave the blue park and go back to Kilwinning Drive on the opposite side of the road there is another path which takes you to the park. It’s not as cool and is a bit worn, but I have to admit my boys really liked it. There’s a wobbly boat they both enjoyed playing on. My eldest loved the wooden climbing frame as there is a rope he could use to climb as well as a pole to slide down – he loves pretending to be a firefighter. See pictures below. There’s some baby swings for little ones. If you’re looking for more parks to enjoy then don’t forget to check out the parks section of my website and if you want to find more places nearby have a look at Milton Keynes Kids the map.
