Millennium Country Park

We first discovered Millennium Country Park a couple of years ago – a great place to meet the mummy friends for a good buggy walk with the babies followed by a hot drink in the spacious café. Well now we’ve returned and realise it’s a huge place! According to the park’s website it covers 225 hectares with a mix of woodland, grassland, meadow, lakes and wetland habitats criss-crossed by 17 kilometres of traffic free, surfaced cycle paths, grass footpaths and bridle ways. There’s also a lovely wetlands area – you do pay extra to walk around this though, but there are hides to watch birds and other wildlife.

What did toddler most enjoy though? The wooden train in the play area. Why? Because it has a bell! This was more than enough to keep him amused for some time. There’s also a small wooden house with slide, a larger wooden climbing frame, big swing and assault course. We will explore further the next time we visit I’m sure! When the weather is lovely the park looks stunning, I really enjoyed taking the pictures. It’s free to park. You can take dogs there (under control or on a lead) but not in the wetlands area.

I'm Laura, mum of two boys - aged six and four. I started this website at the end of Sept 2015 whilst on maternity leave. I now work four days a week and do this blog late at night once the little boys are sleeping. It's won several awards over the last four years and I continue to run it for free and mostly focus on free, cheap, and good value days out. Do drop me an email laura@miltonkeyneskids.com if you want to contact me. Don't forget to follow all of our latest adventures on facebook, instagram and twitter and have a look at all of the videos of the places we visit on the Milton Keynes Kids YouTube Channel - subscribe to it for notifications every time I add a new place. And remember... you may been reading this post months after we visited, do check with the destination you're visiting for up to date opening times and prices. If you find this blog useful then please do comment on my posts and leave me a Facebook review - it makes doing this all the more worthwhile.
