We have found three parks (with sand) on the Wixams development in Bedfordshire. One has a lovely wooden house and climbing frame – ideal for little ones. There’s also a big climbing frame and climbing wall for bigger ones along with some tyre swings. The second has a pirate ship, couple of slides, zip wire, swings and sand. It’s opposite a lake with ducks. There’s a budgens store and chip shop there. (It is quite noisy though – lots of house building going on!) And there’s a third park at Dane Lane with a cool climbing frame which we missed (thanks to friend Susan for the pics) Is it worth the trip? Yes, during school time there was no-one else there and it was good fun, you could take a picnic and do a tour of them.
You could always incorporate a trip to Millennium Country Park in Marston Moretaine which is on the way back if you wanted other places to go. The postcode takes you to the Budgens store opposite the lake to the second park. You’ll see the first one before though. The third is a little walk on from the second (although we didn’t get around to visiting that one so you may have to explore!) Pics are from all three. TIME FROM MK – 25 MINS – MK42 6AE.
