One of the best local places we’ve found to see interactive Christmas displays is at Frosts Garden Centre in Woburn Sands. They’ve expanded the store in the last few months so their Christmas store is huge. On the shop floor the kids can see a big gingerbread house, singing reindeer and a talking letterbox among other things. There’s a few festive photo opportunities. Outside there’s a huge reindeer that is lit up at night and very pretty. You can see all of these things for free. In all honesty my 3 year old and 1 year old weren’t huge fans of the singing reindeer (they made them cry – I think they thought they might be real) but I know lots of other children think they’re good fun. The café there is lovely and a good meeting place to see friends. There’s a small wooden play area right at the back suitable for toddlers. Obviously it’s a shop so they want you to spend money, but if you can avoid temptation then there’s a few good things for the kids to see if the weather isn’t good. Watch the video below so you get the idea.

I'm Laura, mum of two boys - aged six and four. I started this website at the end of Sept 2015 whilst on maternity leave. I now work four days a week and do this blog late at night once the little boys are sleeping. It's won several awards over the last four years and I continue to run it for free and mostly focus on free, cheap, and good value days out. Do drop me an email laura@miltonkeyneskids.com if you want to contact me. Don't forget to follow all of our latest adventures on facebook, instagram and twitter and have a look at all of the videos of the places we visit on the Milton Keynes Kids YouTube Channel - subscribe to it for notifications every time I add a new place. And remember... you may been reading this post months after we visited, do check with the destination you're visiting for up to date opening times and prices. If you find this blog useful then please do comment on my posts and leave me a Facebook review - it makes doing this all the more worthwhile.
