Mother’s Day is all about pampering mum, giving mum a lie-in, cooking mum dinner or taking her out for a nice meal… right? Well actually no, not in my house! We use it as an opportunity to have a cheap(er) day out at one of the places that are normally a bit more expensive.

Mums go free on both 5th and 6th March at Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes when accompanied by one full paying person. Adults and children are both £12 when booking online. Kids under 90cm are free. It’s a small theme park so doesn’t have the thrill-seeking rides of the bigger attractions for teenagers, but with rides like a log flume, cars, trains and a pirate ship as well as soft plays and outdoor play areas there’s more than enough for young children to enjoy. You can see all the pictures I took and read more about it in my blog post.

With its impressive adventure play area, large indoor soft play, Little Tykes play area, digger village and animals, Mead Open Farm is a fun day out for young children and has more than enough to keep them amused. There is a separate outdoor play area for toddlers. You can read all about it and see loads of pictures of my Mead Open Farm blog post.  It’s very much a treat day out for us though with tickets on the day costing just under £12 for adults and £11 for kids (£1 less each if booked in advance). So if you want to visit it’s worth considering going on Mother’s Day as mums go free. You’ll need to request a voucher by 5th March and then show it on your phone or print it out. Mums must be accompanied by one full paying child – request your voucher here.
