Wixams Parks

We have found three parks (with sand) on the Wixams development in Bedfordshire. One has a lovely wooden house and climbing frame – ideal for little ones. There’s also a big climbing frame and climbing wall for bigger ones along with some tyre swings. The second has a pirate ship, couple of slides, zip wire, swings and sand. It’s opposite a lake with ducks. There’s a budgens store and chip shop there. (It is quite noisy though – lots of house building going on!) And there’s a third park at Dane Lane with a cool climbing frame. Is it worth the trip? Yes, during school time there was no-one else there and it was good fun, you could take a picnic and do a tour of them.

The postcode MK42 6AE takes you to the Budgens store opposite the lake to the second park and we parked at the village hall car park. You’ll see the first one before though so you could stop there first. The third at Dane Lane is a little walk on from the second. I’d suggest you don’t park on Dane Lane though – best to go to the 3G football pitch near there – postcode MK42 6DA. Pics are from all three. The Wixams estate is about 25 minutes from Milton Keynes. Head to junction 13 of the M1 and it’s up the A421. You could always incorporate a trip to Millennium Country Park in Marston Moretaine which is on the way back if you wanted other places to go. If you enjoyed this article to check out the parks section of Milton Keynes Kids for more fun parks to take your children to.

I'm Laura, mum of two boys - aged six and four. I started this website at the end of Sept 2015 whilst on maternity leave. I now work four days a week and do this blog late at night once the little boys are sleeping. It's won several awards over the last four years and I continue to run it for free and mostly focus on free, cheap, and good value days out. Do drop me an email laura@miltonkeyneskids.com if you want to contact me. Don't forget to follow all of our latest adventures on facebook, instagram and twitter and have a look at all of the videos of the places we visit on the Milton Keynes Kids YouTube Channel - subscribe to it for notifications every time I add a new place. And remember... you may been reading this post months after we visited, do check with the destination you're visiting for up to date opening times and prices.
